Helmut Lang Archive Exhibition

Eliminating decorativeness and pursuing an air of luxury by means of “minimalism” that is essential to the fashion scene, Helmut Lang continues to present a clear influence on numerous designers today through its practice of sublimating minimal colors of white, ecru, beige and grey paired with basic styles, to a contemporary context.
This exhibition presented an archive of collection pieces from the late 1990s in addition to a select line-up of the casual yet sophisticated Helmut Lang Jeans inspired by Lang’s affinity for workwear. With pieces also available to purchase, the exhibition served to reflect Lang’s “minimal couturism” that is a key and remarkable highlight amongst the various achievements of his designing career.

モードシーンに欠かせない「ミニマリズム」の手法により装飾性をなくして高級感を追及し、白や生成り、ベージュ、グレーといったミニマルなカラーとベーシックなコーディネイトをコンテンポラリーへと昇華させた世界観によって、今なお多数のデザイナーに明確な影響を与えて続けているHelmut Lang（ヘルムート・ラング）。
本エキシビジョンでは1990年代後期コレクションピースやワークウェアを意識したカジュアルながらに洗練されたHelmut Lang Jeansのアーカイヴを展示・販売し、彼の功績において最も輝かしい“ミニマムなクチュールイズム” を表現致しました。
